Aw yeah

Wegmans brand chewable antacids taste like Smarties (the American type). There's a tropical theme one with orange flavored ones that are amaaaazing.

It's weird. I didn't get heartburn last year. But this year, my poor stomach is staging a full-on mutiny.

Another annoyance: for some reason, the double-decker tour buses that normally drive down 5th Avenue are going down my street. No idea why, but it's really obnoxious, because sometimes multiple buses stop, waiting for the green light, and the driver/tour guides drone on and on and on.

And I've been up for most of the night, so I'm tired. T_T

:(

I think my mouse is a few days away from dying completely. When I click on something (anything), it clicks on whatever it is 3-4 times. So, for example, when I go to open one new tab in Firefox, it opens at least two extra ones. Trying to go backward/forward in Firefox is a delicate process that involves futile clicks of the arrow buttons until I settle on the page I wanted to go to, rather than going 4+ pages backwards or forwards per one click.

I guess I should be impressed that the mouse lasted this long. It's held up really well for eight years of extremely heavy use. But I guess that when I buy a new laptop in a week or two, I'll also be buying a new mouse. Maybe one of the cordless dealies. That'd be pretty neat.

Weather >:(

According to the Weather Channel, it's currently 102°F and the heat index is 113°F. >:( It's even worse in Manhattan, so I'm happy I'm not there. In the shade, according to my thermometer, it's about 96. AWESOME.

It's almost hard to breathe, it's so humid. I don't think I've ever experienced heat like this and I was stuck in a stifling hot jet bridge in Phoenix, AZ recently. :\

?

I survived California! I had a stomach virus while traveling to Los Angeles and I think I'm still somewhat recovering, even though it happened a week ago.

Now that I'm home, I'm having to maintain my "healthy" sleep schedule, meaning that I'm up by about 7:30AM and in bed around 11:30PM, because I'm taking care of the dog. Even though my dad's not home at the moment, Ralph has not been depressed about that. Instead, Ralph glommed onto me instantly and follows me everywhere. Which is kind of annoying, yet also kind of sweet.

I've been making summery-type foods for dinner, which has been fun. Also, on the subject of making things, I'm hoping to buy a cheap-ass sewing machine soon so I can try making some clothes. My summer purse has also been slowly dying, so I might try my hand at making a copy of it. :x

Oh oh oh!

I'm really jonesing to go to thrift shops tomorrow to dig for goodies. I'm in the process of re-purposing two weird/frumpy cardigans. I want to find some shirts that might look good with the addition of Peter Pan collars.

Also planning to buy some fabric and make skirts and a lacey petticoat or two. I guess the petticoats will happen first for experiment purposes (since they'd be under skirts, hence less pressure to perfect everything). I really, really want to make a retro high-waisted pencil skirt. Found a tutorial for that, so yay! Given that I've seen high-waisted pencil skirts for $50+, making my own would be preferable. Plus, I doubt that most pencil skirts are made to account for my hips of doom.

But, yes! This is fun. For now, at least. >__>

lulz

Is it weird that after I read this, I said aloud, "And now you're dead. Score one for Peter." I don't normally quote things randomly, so it was extra weird!

Omgggg I'm so tired and overwhelmed and yet I feel awesome and I DON'T KNOW. I'm a jumble of emotions! I hope, a year from tonight, that I just feel AWESOME and super cool. To my upcoming thesis! You will rob me of many nights of sleep and my sanity, but here's hoping you turn out fantastic.

interesting...

Last night, I dreamt that I had a whole mess of Copic markers. I was holding them in my hands, but there were just so many, that I couldn't bunch them all together in-between my hands.

Well, I guess that's more interesting than the spate of grocery store dreams that I had a couple months ago.

My subconscious is pretty boring sometimes.

:V

Trash-Pick 2011 has begun! Someone threw out a perfectly good drawing board, so I rescued it. ...Even though I already have a drawing board. But this is a BIG one and they're always nice to have, yanno?

Tomorrow's the official move-out day, so I'll be keeping an eye out for more stuffs. Maybe I'll go to different floors and see what's around to scavenge. Rich art students have the nicest trash. Last year, I got two reaaaaally nice portfolios. And these are portfolios that cost like $50+ a piece. Wtfffff, art students?

I'm staying in NY until next Monday, so it's gonna be funnnn. Random kinda thing: I'm going downtown sometime this week to find the building that was used for exterior shots of the Ghostbusters' headquarters. It's down by South Street Seaport, which I didn't know until like a week go. :V So, yeah, I'mma be a tourist! And then at some point, I'll go over to Brooklyn to my favorite secondhand store. And maybe paint landscapes/cityscapes in Central Park. Lots of fun shall be had!

GAAHAHAAHAAHA

ANNDDDDDDDDDDDD DONE! Spring '11 semester IS COMPLETE.

Sleep will commence shortly. THEN! MEGAMIND FANART PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Is it sad that my goal for getting my work finished was so I can draw some blue guy a whole bunch of times? I'm sure that it is, but I don't care! :D

wtfffffffff

I'm not one for conspiracies, but the announcement that OBL's body has already been buried at sea is freaking weird.

I didn't like when the media kept showing photos of the bodies of Saddam Hussein's sons, but at least we knew they were dead. With OBL, who the hell knows? Show us the pictures of his body, damn it. Pics or it didn't happen!

Random thought

I've been drawing Snape for almost ten years. Granted, I haven't been drawing him often recently, thanks to my Megamind obsession, but that's still a pretty big realization. And I'll be hitting the big tenth anniversary for Discworld in two years, too. None of my other fandoms have lasted this long, but with HP and Discworld, those series both have quite a bit of material (particularly Discworld--I haven't even read all of them yet).

I will say, however, that even before I got into Megamind, my interest in HP has waned quite a bit. I haven't seen DH#1 and won't be seeing DH#2. :\ I'm not sure if it's due to my feeling that the movies have gotten a little too much into competing with Twilight or if it's because I'm older and more disconnected from the target audience than I was in my late teens/early twenties.

Mmm... I wish I knew where I was going with this. But, as the subject says, it's just a random thought.

Hahahaha what

Read an article about the sinking of The Titanic and, in the comments, someone mentions their grandmother, who was a little girl when the ship sank, then the commenter went on to say that they'd sit down with their own grandchildren next year (the 100th anniversary) and tell them about it all.

...Hahahaha, both of my grandfathers were preteens when The Titanic sank. And I'm in my twenties. Well, I feel weird. :B

YESSSS

AND WITH THIS PROJECT COMPLETED, I WILL NEVER HAVE TO ANIMATE ANYTHING ON PAPER AGAIN.

...Unless I were to be employed by someone who'd want pencil-drawn stuff.

But seriously, I am not going to do much animating with pencil and paper any more. Next year will be paperless, if I have any say in the matter (which I do).

HUZZAH. FLASH, ILU.* <3

Oh my god...lol

Some weeks ago, I copied one or two They Might Be Giants albums from my department's network. I don't know who puts tons of albums on the server, but I'm not going to complain, y'know? But the TMBG music, as it turned out, is largely just ten second clips of music, not whole songs.

So, when I have iTunes/my iPod on shuffle, I get really weird combinations of music. Such as, Megamind - "Evil Lair" (which is a dramatic/rapid-paced instrumental) followed by some clip of a weird TMBG song, going, "Whooooo is that...is standing...at my window?" Followed by Nightmare Before Christmas - "Christmas Eve Montage" (another rapid-paced, dramatic action-packed story climax sort of song). Followed by "SOMETHING GRABBED A HOLD OF MY HAAAAAAND. BUT THAT'S WHEN MY TROUBLES...BEGAAAAAN." Followed by a very serene, sad Edith Piaf song.

Oh, iTunes shuffle, you're so fun with your randomness.

ETA: OMG I THINK I BROKE SOMETHING FROM LAUGHING LIKE AN IDIOT. I'm writing an MM/RR fic and all of the sudden, another TMBG clip came on: "WHAT'S THAT BLUE THING...DOING HERE?" That...amuses me. But it'd be even funnier if I were writing a sexytime scene.

Damn it, Russia. I'm trying to procrastinate here! Stop killing LiveJournal.

IJ and DeviantArt offer only so much amusement. :(

Y'know, ages and ages ago, back when Brad still owned it, LJ went down for several days and LJ reimbursed paid users for those days.

Somehow, I doubt that SUP will be that generous. Which sucks, particularly if it's true that that Russian political activist is the target of the DDOS attacks.

But, I guess I'll get back to finishing my Megamind fanarts. >____>

ETA: Fuck, LJ's down again. And for some reason, I can't access their Twitter feed. Idgi. I don't get any of it.

Apparently LJ can't handle the awesomeness that is Roxanne Ritchi, because it keeps timing out whenever I try to add this to my icons.

I needs to make more Megamind fanart icons, because having ~*different*~ icons than the rest of the fandom is important, I tell you!

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed To Face Military Tribunal

BWA HA HA HA HA!

"After eight years of delay, those allegedly responsible for the attacks of September the 11th will finally face justice," Mr. Holder said. "I am confident in the ability of our courts to provide these defendants a fair trial, just as they have for over 200 years." -- WSJ
Except, y'know, apparently not.

Gee, I think someone just announced his re-election campaign? I think I might have heard about that. Wonder who that could be? Huh...

O___O

I was looking at DA this morning and I swore I saw a trollface peeking out from behind one of the comments for a second. But I didn't look closely and given that I haven't been sleeping much this week, it was possible that I was hallucinating. That...happens.

But then I saw it again just now and clicked on it. DA's selling trollface merchandise. :I That just makes me angry.

Aw yeah, eating spaghetti with marinara, watchin' a scene in a movie in which a woman's getting her face cut off. THIS IS THE LIFE.

"Eyes without a Face" is a weird movie. :x And 1950s French cars were weird-looking.
